Get Connected…at Franklin Federated

What are people looking for when they go to a rummage sale, a flea market, or a yard sale? Sure, some folks are looking for essentials. But many also come looking for a FIND.

A find is that one thing that either:
· Completes a collection
· Represents an amazing value
· Reminds you of something from your childhood or some other favored time in your life
· Suddenly inspires you to embark on a new project

A find can be other things, but I bring these up because they relate so well to how we find new members of our church, and how new members find us.

Is your life complete? Finished? Have you found everything you’ve been looking for? Is your understanding of God and the grace of Christ all figured out? If you can answer no to any of these questions, you might come to see your church experiences as one of the most important parts of your life. The church gets to add your skills, your talents, and your energy to our collection!

As for value, where else do gather with other people, in the flesh, to find how God is touching each of our lives? It’s not available online. It’s not in the theater. And you can have conversations here that many folks would rather NOT have in the middle of a coffee shop! For the church, each member represents the driving force, sustaining the church through time, talent and pledges.

Is your recent time at church “taking you back,” either to childhood or to a better time? Are there traditions here that are sustaining and comforting? Do the songs fill you up? Do the stories inspire? Even while we are thinking you are “the find,” you might be feeling the same way about us.

Finally, what will the next chapter of your life be? What if you could share it with others who were on the journey with you, available to support and sustain you through rough times, and looking forward to celebrating joys and milestones with you? What might be possible for our church with you in it?

The horizon draws closer and we begin to make out the details that were hidden, things that were not possible without you. Our next Membership Class is Sunday, January 10th, and starts at 2:30 p.m. and leads into a pot-luck supper where folks get to meet and eat together. Contact Rev. Charley Eastman, or speak to one of the deacons to sign up.
