Life in Franklin

When Mireille and the kids and I first arrived here, we love the availability of some differing cuisines. I mean, New York it ain’t, but what is?

The one notable exception was great Japanese food.

We found Teppanyaki to be serviceable, but nothing to write home about. Wanokura in Milford is good, but just a bit too far away. Mango, also in Milford, is also good, but really just for the Thai-style dishes. Their sushi really seems to play it safe.

Since my last update here, I’ve been to Maguro House three times. Getting ready for a formal review, but for now, let me just say: BEST SUSHI in FRANKLIN. Get on over there when you get a chance, if this cuisine appeals to you. And no, I am not a paid endorser.  I just like sharing things that make me happy.

  1. There is a “Grand Opening Party” scheduled for Feb 28th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

    • Thanks for this. I went by and they said it was a “private party,” so I suspect the invites that went out were for local businesses and “persons of interest,” like yourself. Charlie Oteri said he got an invite. I wouldn’t expect the new Japanese restaurant in town to invite a pastor over…still and all I DID get a menu, and I look forward to getting by there this week. Thanks for keeping us all informed! You do a great job.

  2. Sorry about that. I wish the invites had been a little more clear about that key point. You apparently weren’t the only one to have had that happen. I’ll do better to make sure there is no mistake about public versus private party for the next time.
